What is a 3.6 V 1800 mAh Ni‑MH Battery Pack?

Each AA Ni‑MH cell delivers ~1.2 V nominal and stays between ~1.3–1.4 V under light load after top-off. Three in series give ~4.0–3.6 V during use.

⚡ Charging Guidelines (Ni‑MH Specific)

• Standard charge: ~0.1 C (≈180 mA) over 14–16 hours, for safe “overnight” charging

• Fast charge: Up to 0.5 C (≈900 mA) with proper charging control (−ΔV/pulse), cut-off detection by smart charger

• What not to do:

  • Don’t use a Li‑ion charger—Ni‑MH requires a different chemistry profile.

  • Avoid “C/50” trickle or constant voltage charging unless the pack is in standby for extended periods. Overcharging at higher currents can cause cell overheating. 

For best cycling life, stick to a reputable Ni‑MH smart charger or a device like the ISDT N8 balance charger, which offers controlled charging and cycle count tracking. 

🔋 Performance & Lifetime

• Depth-of‑discharge effect: Regular discharging past 1.0 V per cell may lead to reverse polarity damage in weaker cells. Shut-off protection is useful in 3-cell packs. 

• Cycle life: 300 cycles typical with good Ni‑MH cells (e.g. Eneloop, turnigy), though cheaper packs may only last ~200 cycles

• Self-discharge: ~20–30% per month at 25 °C for standard cells (less for low‑self‑discharge variants)
